Style wars e’ un film documentario del 1983 che descrive l’ eta’ dell’oro newyorkese in quanto a street culture ed e’ entrato a pieno titolo nella leggenda.
Diretto da Tony Silver questo film ha vinto il “Grand Prize for Documentaries” al Sundance Film Festival nel 1984 per poi essere nuovamente acclamato nel 2003 al New York’s Tribeca Film Festival ed in numerossisimi altri festival con il nuovo titolo di “Style Wars :ReVisited”, operazione questa accompagnata dall’ uscita di un doppio dvd che, arricchendo il film con contenuti extra , ha rinnovato l’entusiasmo attorno al fenomeno. Il lancio di questo nuovo dvd e’ stato supportato da un sito che vale assolutamente la pena visitare, anche perche’(guarda caso!) e’ stato insignito del prestigioso Webby Award , per la sezione “BEST VISUAL DESIGN – AESTHETIC” .
